Russian MP tells men 'mark International Women's Day by getting women pregnant'\u00a0

On International Women’s Day,Russian men were ordered by a pro-Putin MP to gift women ‘pregnancy’.

Today marks International Women’s Day,when Russian men are expected to give gifts to their female loved ones.

Instead,Kremlin mouthpiece and MP Vitaly Milonov,51,said that if men don’t get their women pregnant, they should ‘prove their loyalty to the Russian dictator by signing a military contract and going to war.’

‘The best gift you can give your woman is pregnancy. Get her pregnant. It’s the most unforgettable gift you can give her,’ he said.

His plea with Russian men came as Putin is campaigning to stop an alarming slide in the country’s population, worsened by the death of 300,000-plus soldiers in his war against Ukraine.

Milonov added: ‘Give her a copy of your military contract [instead],showing that you went to defend your homeland [in the war against Ukraine].

‘This is also an excellent gift because your woman will be proud that her husband, her fiancé,is a true hero. That’s a good gift.’

Milonov also suggested that while gifting presents to women, they shouldn’t offer ‘tools or fishing materials’,as those are ‘for men’.

‘Women aren’t suited to that,’ he claimed. He also said men should not allow their partners to ‘get drunk’ on the holiday.

‘A bottle of champagne is enough. No mass drinking bouts. Conception while drunk—that shouldn’t happen,’ he claimed.

Online reaction was mostly hostile to Miloniv, who is deputy chairman of the Russian parliament’s committee for the Protection of the Family,Fatherhood,Motherhood, and Childhood.

‘Thank you! I’d rather go without a gift this year,’ said one.

Another posted: ‘Why has this cringe been in power for years? When will the time come for sane politicians!?’

In 2024,Putin ordered Russians to have sex at work during lunch and coffee breaks because of a decline in the birth rate in the country.

The sex-at-work scheme was ordered because the current fertility rate is around 1.5 children per woman, far below the 2.1 rate needed to keep a stable population.

More than one million mainly younger Russians have emigrated from the country due to Putin’s ongoing war against Ukraine.

Putin said: ‘The preservation of the Russian people is our highest national priority. The fate of Russia….depends on how many of us there will be. It is a question of national importance.’

Health minister Dr Yevgeny Shestopalov said: ‘Being very busy at work is not a valid reason, but a lame excuse.

‘You can engage in procreation during breaks, because life flies by too quickly.’
