Typhoon Peipah is the 15th tropical storm to hit Japan this year.

It made landfall in western Japan early on Friday and moved east along the Pacific coast.

Heavy rainfall is now expected today with 120 mm predicted in the  Kanto-Koshin area,which includes Tokyo.

Shizuoka airport has also seen a 113 mm in one hour – making it a new local record.
