On January 16, a Spring Festival Gala was held at Snow Lotus Grand Theater in Dongying, east China’s Shandong province. The event was organized by Dongying Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Dongying Municipal People’s Government, and the Integrated Development Office of Dongying Oilfield School.
All the audiences were immersed in the colorful artistic performances and the multicultural charm of Dongying city. China’s ethnic orchestral music, songs and dances, Beijing-style drums, and Lu Opera performances gained applause from the audiences. One of the highlights was the participation of foreign friends. Oduro Isaac and Oduro Robert Chief sang “Good Morning, Dongying”, conveying their love for the city and triggering warm responses.
Sheehan Gillis from Dongying No. 1 Middle School brought a rewritten version of the American classic song “country roads” and expressed his love for Dongying.
The gala not only offered joy and artistic feast to the citizens, but also demonstrated the openness, inclusiveness and multicultural charm of the city. The participation of foreign friends on the site further strengthened the exchanges and integration of Chinese and overseas cultures.
