Entering a world of greenery, opening doors to vibrant flowers, and stepping outside to picturesque scenery - these are the most poetic and sought-after living conditions for many citizens. Since the implementation of the comprehensive park city construction, Zhangdian District has been continuously renovating and expanding old parks while enhancing the landscape quality. Parks have gradually transitioned from being mere "supporting roles" in the city to becoming "leading roles." One of the major projects aimed at improving urban quality of life is the transformation of Zhangdian Children's Park. Recently, Zhangdian Children's Park officially opened, providing a leisure and entertainment destination for all residents, especially children.
Zhangdian Children's Park was first established in 2002. It is located south of Communist Youth League Road and east of Laozi River, making it the only specialized thematic park in Zibo City dedicated to children. The renovation project, with a total area of 107,000 square meters, took seven months to complete. The park, themed as a "dreamland of joy and aspirations," combines childlike amusement, interest cultivation, cultural enlightenment, and physical fitness. It opened its doors to the public on May 31.
"I heard that the children's park has been completed, so we immediately brought our children to see it. It's much better than before. We live nearby, and from now on, we will bring our children to play here every day," said Wang Xiu-jun, a resident, to the reporter.
"I like playing football in the park, and I also enjoy sliding down the slides. The park has become colorful now, and it looks great," exclaimed Cao Zijun, a happy young child.
During the renovation process, Zhangdian Children's Park paid special attention to creating an atmosphere with elements that cater to children. It features eight main functional areas: Starry Sky Square, Blue Sea Secret Realm, Valley Theater, Cuju Amusement Park, Oxygen Forest, Grand Arena, Bubble Paradise, and Colorful Showcase. The park offers more than 120 types of recreational facilities, providing children with an unprecedented journey of knowledge, exploration, and creativity. It aims to create a three-dimensional park that complements the child-friendly urban environment for children, adolescents, and residents of the surrounding communities.
"Seeing so many children's facilities today truly highlights the theme of our park. This also provides a great place for citizens to bring their children for leisure activities and creates a wonderful environment for their healthy growth. I am grateful to the government for accomplishing something significant, beneficial, and practical for the people," said Wang Faqing, a resident.
In recent years, Zhangdian District has also constructed and expanded 13 community parks, including Xizhang Park and Heping Park, totaling an area of 166,200 square meters. Following the concept of "one park, one scene," various functional spaces have been arranged in a reasonable manner to create unique garden landscapes and showcase different park themes. This allows the parks to exhibit diverse effects and demonstrate the city's newfound vitality.
